Cobh/Kinsale/Old Head

Cobh ist eine kleine Stadt an der südlichen Küste Irlands gelegen. Typisch für Cobh ist seine Hanglage mit einigen sehr steilen Straßen und zahlreich grellbunt gestrichenen Häusern. Der Hafen von Cobh ist ein schnell wachsender Containerhafen und neben Dublin der größte Irlands. Cobh hieß früher Queenstown und war im Jahre 1912 der letzte Hafen den die "Titanic" auf ihrer Jungfernfahrt anlief. Das kleine Fischerdorf Kinsale liegt ca. 25 km südlich von Cork und ist bekannt für seinen Yachthafen und lebt von der Fischerei und Tourismus. Der Old Head of Kinsale sind eindruckvolle Klippen ca. 8 km von Kinsale entfernt.
